As our Cloud Backup Services, Our Files and Database Cloud Backup system is an automated system for dumping and shipping your full and differential, compressed database dumps to our cloud storage service. This will be through the copying of the database dumps or other files at off-peak hours, where applicable, so as not to impact normal business operations your organization.
Our shipping to cloud strategy can consist of:
- Shipping of full copies of the database dump weekly during weekends and retaining 2 versioned copies.
- Shipping of differential copies of daily backups, every evening and retaining 7 versioned copies.
To achieve the above we configure for our clients automated database backup jobs and copy the backup files to a cloud storage server. This approach ensures that your organization has up to at least two weeks’ worth of database at any one time.
Alerts: With our system, we configure both daily email alerts for the IT staff, to alert them of the status of the differential and/or full back up jobs.
Security: For security during shipping of the backup files, this will takes place securely over SSH (Secure Shell) connections. As for the files at rest in our cloud storage, the files are encrypted with AES encryption. Both the storage and transmission of the database dumps and other files will be secured using industry standard encryption.
Connectivity: Our solution can work with at a minimum 1 Mbps link depending of the size of the files being shipped to our cloud storage service. Since the automated shipping jobs will be configured to mostly work during off-peak hours, this internet bandwidth can be shared/used by the organization for other functions.
